India's "Golden Age"
The Gupta Empire was an Indian empire that came shortly after the Mauryan empire. the Gupta empire started around the year 320 ad and lasted to about the year 550 ad.
Most of the contributions of the Gupta are in the area of mathematics. Arabic numbers, the numbers we use everyday, are actually a contribution from this Indian empire. the concept of zero is another contribution. The Guptas came up with the Idea that there should be a number to represent nothing. the decimal system came from the Gupta.
