Our Valentine's Partner
Hawley is a borough on the Lackawahen River in Wayne County, Pennsylvania.
It was named after the first president of the Pennsylvania Coal Company - Irad Hawley. It has around 1,200 inhabitants.
Hawley students attend Wallenpaupack Areas Schools, approximately five miles from town and located on the shores of Lake Wallenpaupack.
The local Leni Lenapi Indian tribe called the stream "Wallenpaupack" which means "the stream of swift and slow water."
Hawley is home to a number of notable lakes, golf courses, and other recreational facilities, making it a leisure destination, particularly during the summer months.
