Whole Group Block

Homeroom: Similes and metaphors activity: As a class, choose a random topic that has many objects (deserts, chocolate, unicorns, etc.) have students brainstorm attributes about that topic that they could describe (nouns), then come up with a column of adjectives (they don't have to match yet). Students then mix and match nouns and adjectives to create similes and metaphors with connecting phrases. Try to make 3 similes and 3 metaphors and illustrate.
