Immigration: The Borders

Immigration policy and laws have been influenced by race today because the negative words and past events that shine negative light on immigration. Race in the past did not have anything to do with immigration Germans and the Irish once immigrated and white was the dominate race. Immigrants are good for the U.S economy and is thriving today, most Americans are just to blind to see it.

Immigration of the 19th and 20th century is similar to today because there is still hatred toward immigrants. Like the 19th and 20th century most people did not want to come to America or were forced. Most that wanted to come were filled with ideas of freedom and a better life. Mostly everyone in America today had or has an ancestor that was an immigrant. why is there so much hatred about immigrants when they are helping the economy by starting jobs not by taking them. The only difference from immigration today is that people are scared to admit that they are racist or that race is the problem that they do not want people to come into our country. Our society would let a white person from a different country in but if the person was Mexican we would think twice.

Race is the way we perceive people from the outside, racism may be the hatred we think or show to a person of a different color or culture then ourselves. By bringing the two things together the media creates mass hatred. Politian's do the same they talk themselves up about immigration laws and policies and do not follow through with them. Media creates and puts ideas in peoples head about certain things in this case it would be racism. Immigration is linked with racism and is also linked with a certain race. Mexicans get all the flak when it comes to immigration, but that is not the truth there are many races that have come to America.

Great takk. Another really informative piece. I love the conversational nature of the text: posing questions, using the pronoun "we", etc.. This allows you to reel your reader in and really require them to think about their response to your message. Well done! Oh Yes, and great pictures too.

I agree with your sentiment that America is quicker to allow a white individual in, while individuals of color or a different race have a more difficult time. This just shows how backwards we are, I think everyone should have the opportunity to a better life.
