Medieval clothing was made out of different materials. Some of them are cotton, lace, velvet, wool, sheepskin, and linen. The group of wealthy people would wear very expensive materials such as the cotton, lace, and velvet. The more poor people would wear wool, sheepskin, and linen. Women would wear about eight layers of clothing to make the dresses be very big. Some people that were not as wealthy as others, wore less layers. The men would make their clothing out of the same materials. They would not wear as many layers though. Men would wear about one to three layers of clothing. Some men were knights so they had to wear armor made out of metals.
