Just To Say by William Carlos Williams

I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox

and which you were probably saving for breakfast

Forgive me they were delicious so sweet and so cold

In 1883, William Carlos Williams was born in Rutherford, New Jersey. He began writing poetry when he was a young child. Williams's health began to get worse after a heart attack in 1948 and a lot of strokes, but he continued writing up until his death in New Jersey in 1963.
