How does the type of circuit affect the strand of Christmas lights with a broken bulb?
Independent Variable: type of circuit; amount of bulbs
Dependent Variable: number of bulbs lit; amount of electricity
If the Christmas lights are arranged in a parallel circuit then when one bulb burns out the other bulbs will still light up.
I noticed that the bulbs are very bright and that with all three bulbs attached, the circuit lights up.
When one bulb was taken away, nothing but brightness changed.
If the Christmas lights are arranged in a series circuit then when one bulb is removed the other bulbs will not light up.
I noticed that the brightness is lower than the parallel circuit, but all bulbs do light up.
I noticed that when one bulb is taken away all the bulbs don't light up.
A parallel circuit is the best circuit to use for Christmas lights because even when one bulb I taken away, the strand of lights still lights up. The only thing that changes is brightness .
