9th Grade English
Jesus. He was born of a virgin. He was crucified. He rose again. Jesus' life stands out from others: born of a virgin, worked miracles, and lives on to this day.
Born of a virgin, Jesus came to Earth. This virgin's name was Mary. Yes, you heard me right. She was a virgin when Jesus was born. Mary was engaged to a man named to Joseph. Joseph wasn't Jesus' father though. Jesus' father... was God. A supernatural man who may not be real, but that's a different story.
Jesus worked many miracles. He fed thousands of people with very little food, brought Lazarus back to life, healed the sick, and turned water into wine. He, also, claimed to be the son of God. For that, people wanted him dead! They made him carry his own cross as they whipped him with a cat of nine tails which ripped the flesh off of his body. The Romans nailed him to cross, shoved thorns onto his head, and watched him die. The Romans put him in a tomb, and they put a stone over the entrance. No one could get in, and no one could get out. The third day that Jesus was dead, Mary Magdelene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went to the tomb to anoint Jesus. They were wondering how they were going to move the stone. When they got there, the stone was already rolled away. They claim to have seen an angel who said, "Jesus has from the dead!"
To this day, his stories live on. These people who call themselves Christians, people who believe in God, carry out this tradition. They believe in the Bible, and they live according to what it says. Christians believe in a heaven, and Jesus is going to come back and get the saved.
Jesus. The man who was born of a virgin, performed miracles, and impacts life to this day. There is not scientific proof he will come back or that he is risen. It is based on faith. He may or may not be real, but like I said, that's a different story.
