Political Ideologies

Business Week calls him the "Chief Conservative Strategist," as his calm and cool demeanor reflect his less active approach, essentially establishing his main political ideology. Though he may find roots in conservative ideals, he can flip flop depending on the issue and famously when he was being questioned about his standing on the Roe v. Wade case.

Judicial Ideology

John Roberts is for Judicial Restraint, though he can flip over to political activism when it comes to more conservative ideals, as and example the District of Columbia V. Heller.

Important Cases

John Roberts made the decision for the supreme court case of FEC v. Citizens United where Roberts stated that third part corporations and unions are free to campaign up to the day voters vote.

District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), Struck down ban on privately owned hand guns in Washington DC. This case contrasts the his restraint ideals.
