First Nations - First nations are the descendants of the first settlers from Asia.

Multiculturalism - This is an acceptance of many different cultures.

Constitutional Monarchy - A constitution to explain the powers of the government and owes allegiance to a monarch, a king or queen.

Refugees - People who flee a country because of war / disaster or persecution are called refugees.

Parliament - This has two bodies, the house of commons and the senate. Together they determine Canadian laws and policies.

Prime Minister - A person who runs the executive branch within the legislature.

Pierre Trudeau - A prime minister in 1892 who led an effort to add a Charter of Rights and Freedom to the Canadian Constitution.

Separatist - People who want the province of Quebec to be its own country.
