On the sunny shores
of Lake Huron,there is a tiny town called Alpena.
Where the average age is 65,the speed limit is half that,DQ is only open during the summertime,and the beaches are full of black, slimy sludge.
On hot summer days,my friends and I would go to "the rope swing,"a river with a rope tied to a tree branch.
On chilly winter days, we would go to "Manning hill,"the biggest, fastest sledding hillthat you torpedo down.
For the first time,school was superior,teachers were outstanding,and the salad bar was magnificent.
