Evolution Of the Monkey.

Ayanna Gilmore

The ancestors of the monkey comes from different kinds of groups from Africa. The first group I would start with is Australopithecus Sediba that lived in Southern African between 1.97 and 1.98 million years ago. Another group is called Paranthropus Rubustus that lived in Southern Africa between 1.8 to 1.2 million years ago. The next group is the Ardipithecus that lived in Eastern Africa 4.4 million years ago. The last group is the Homo group that lived in Europe, Eastern Africa, and Southern Africa between 700,000 to 200 years ago to the present.

This is the family tree of the monkey. The oldest group is the Ardipithecus group.

There are many types of monkeys in the world from different families. Gorillas and Lemurs is consider a monkey.

Ancient monkeys looked like humans. They walked on two legs like we do. The ancient monkeys can live in different kinds of habitats not matter if it is cold or hot. The ancient monkeys is different from monkeys today because their skulls were in different sizes that monkeys today.
