To make a blizzard, you need to have temperatures below freezing so the clouds can produce snow. Before you can make snow, there will have to be moister in the air so you can get the evaporation into the clouds. Warm air will need to be raising to make the clouds. You will need snow on the ground.

To be a blizzard, the winds have to be at least 35 miles per hour, and severe blizzards have 45 miles per hour winds. Blizzards need the wind because blizzards are a mixture of the wind blowing the snow on the ground and it snowing.

Scientists have studied the human body and come out with easy things that people can do to help prevent illnesses and diseases from occurring. Like to avoid hypothermia (when the body's temperature goes below 95 degrees Fahrenheit or 35 degrees Celsius) scientists say to stay hydrated and nourished. Also people have satellites and television so they now the blizzards are coming and can tell people that the blizzards are coming. If people know the blizzards are coming they will get ready for it, like getting food and water, or take a trip to somewhere that is not going to get hit with the blizzard.
