Honda City belongs to the C segment sedan class which is in high demand in India. C-segment means that Honda City is a mid-sized sedan and with the launch of diesel engine for this car, Honda City has become the best car in its segment and has outdone all the competitors including Hyundai Verna which had the maximum market share for quite some time now.

The latest model of Honda City was recently launched in the market which is the fourth generation car and been pre-booked by more than 9,000 people. This engine is integrated to a 6 speed gearbox which has a manual transmission and a five speed gearbox with automatic transmission.

The new diesel engine which has been introduced by Honda is the 1.5 liter DOHC i_DTEC engine with four cylinders which has a displacement of 1498cc. This engine can produce a maximum power of 100PS @ 3600rpm and a maximum torque of 200Nm @ 1750rpm. This engine is integrated to a six speed gearbox which has manual transmission.

5. Mileage

The Indian consumer is very concerned about the fuel efficiency of a vehicle and Honda City diesel engine has been designed keeping this in mind. The petrol engine has also been modified to ensure that it becomes fuel efficient. The petrol engine delivers a mileage of 18kmpl whereas the diesel engine delivers a mileage of 26kmpl.
