Fourth Grade
Kure Beach Field Trip

Carolina Ocean Studies program, Pier into the Ocean,  teaches students about prehistoric life, food chains, and predator-prey relationships.

The students learned about the special adaptations of the fish they caught and about human effects on fish populations.

During the fossil hunting, students searched for artifacts left behind from a time when the ocean covered the entire coastal plain all the way to Raleigh.

Students explored food chains by studying live marine life.

NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher

The NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher provided the opportunity for students to touch a live shark, climb along Adventure Reef, meet an albino alligator, talk to a SCUBA diver, and come face to face with a sea turtle.
