April Henry

Born April 14, 1959

  • April grew up in a southern Oregon town called Medford.
  • She never thought of being an author, she wanted to be an ophthalmologist.
  • April once had a job at a hospital and had a lot of down time, so she figured she could try to write a book about life and death that surrounded her everyday.
  • That explains a lot about why she writes creepy mysterious books.
  • Have you heard of a author of the name Roald Dahl?
  • He helped April become who she is today.
  • April looked up to Roald when she was younger, so she decided to write him a short story about a 6 foot tall frog who loved peanut butter.
  • Roald liked the story she wrote him, so he had lunch with the editor of an international children's magazine.
  • When he read her story, he immediately contacted April to ask if he could publish her story.
  • The first book april published was 'Confusion Circles of.' She Published her first book in 1999. It was published by Harper Collins.
  • I just finished a book by April called 'The Girl that was Supposed to Die.'  The book is really good. It is very creepy. The girl in the story doesn't know who she is, where she is, and where to go. How did she get there?  Where is she from? She is clueless.
  • I recommend you read this book if you like to read about mysteries. There are a lot of mysteries in this book. If you decide to read this book, you won't regret it.
