Euclid: The Father of Geometry
Euclid was a Greek mathematician and philosopher who worked in Greece and Egypt during the century 300 - 200 BC.
He studied at Plato's academy in Athens, Greece.
He is considered to be the "father" of geometry. He devised postulates, axioms, definitions, and propositions of Geometrical knowledge in his publication The Elements.
The Elements is a 13 volume series on the course in Geometry. It has mesmerized mathematicians for well over 2000 years. Mathematicians have used Euclid's work to create new fields of mathematics.
