Melanie Moore

Melanie Moore is an American professional dancer, best known as the female winner of the eighth season of the reality TV competition "So You Think You Can Dance". Her genre is contemporary.

Melanie was born September 17, 1991. She was raised in Marietta, Georgia and attended Lassiter High School, where she was crowned homecoming queen.              She trained for 12 years at Rhythm Dance Center and won the national JUMP Senior Female VIP title. She was formerly a student at Fordham University for art in New York City, but she later left college to continue her dance training in Marietta. Currently Melanie resides in Los Angeles as a professional dancer.

At the time of the competition, Melanie was a 19-year-old girl. Since the very beginning Melanie seemed to be a front runner in the competition. She was partnered with Marko Germar. The two were known as the season' s power couple.

After the end of the program, Melanie Moore has become an active All Star of SYTYCD and has lead a part in the Shaping Sound Dance Company, which is run by Travis Wall and Nick Lazzarini. She has also appeared on Glee season 4, Dancing with the Star and performed on Emmy nominated piece by Allison Holker and Derek Hough.

I admire Melanie Moore because she is a fantasic dancer with great artistic quality, who has always worked hard to learn and improve. Although she has been very successful, she is a humble girl who accepts criticism and advice from others.
