A Christian Today

What does it mean to be a christian in today's society in the U.S? Well Christians in today's society are shy about their Faith and don't really know how to share God's word. Even our adult Christians don't share their Faith as the Bible tells them to do so in 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word;be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching (2 Timothy 4:2, ESV). The bigger question is why are we ashamed of the person who gave us life and wakes us up and breathes life into us Daily he was and is and yet to come he is our Father and we deny him daily. We as Christians have become a custom to the world around us and sometimes forget what we as God's children are supposed to do.

To be a christian in today's society means to live for the lord and share his word and your story. For the lord's word say's  In the same way, Let your light shine before others, So that they might see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven (Matthew 5:16, ESV). I interviewed my youth pastor and asked him seven questions number 1) What does it mean to be a christian in the US today? 2) What do you think it means to be a teen christian in today's society? 3) How do you think our christian teens are treated in their schools? 4) Why do you think its hard for teens to come out and share their Faith? 5) Why do Christian teens who consistently attend a church they enjoy, struggle to invite others with them 6) Why do you think its hard for adults to share their Faith with coworkers? 7)Do you think adults struggle sharing their faith more or less than teens? 1) To be a believer in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to commit your life to the teachings and guidelines placed in scripture. 2) To model yourself in a Christ like manner according to the teachings of Jesus 3) Depends on the reputation of the Teenager. If they are open and outgoing they are usually met with welcome. If they are rude then they are treated accordingly 4) Fear of rejection or of a change in the relationship with that individual 5) I think it all goes back to rejection. They don't want to offend others or create awkward tension 6) They may feel people have made their "faith decisions" already by this point in their lives. 7) Less. By this time in their lives they have experienced awkwardness and are aware of rejection. But are also aware of random, positive, opportunities and desire to be a part of them. Also another thing that helps develop the identity of a Christian is the way they are treated cause today Christians are discriminated against and for me personally dealing with those experiences it has helped me grow in my Faith and i can't wait to see what the future has in store because of it.

People think that when your christian you don't get tattoo, ear piercings, or that we don't dance, or drink or even doubt sometimes. The reality is that being a Christian means having a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. When becoming a Christian it means being changed on the inside and not controlled by or let down by outside objects, people, or things. When becoming a Christian the Holy Spirit begins to move you in miraculous ways. To be a Christian means to follow Christ, to fellowship with Him, to desire Him, and to bring glory to Him in your life. (Slick, "What Does It Mean to Be a Christian)

I strongly believe that if Christians don't want to be viewed as judgmental or rude than they need to start acting like Christians and share the Gospel. We have to share his word cause as children of Christ we are supposed to show our Heavenly Father's love and grace each and everyday.
