I Started This as a Means of Making a Living
It Quickly Turned Into a Crusade for Justice
I was an Entrepreneur Masquerading as an Employee #76
Why couldn’t I just keep my mouth shut, my head down and just go with the flow? Why did I ever think I could take on such a monumental task of correcting injustices when so many just going along to get along?
A small, thin framed, shy individual born in Yonkers, New York and raised by the world! What difference did I think I could make?
Silly boy, tricks are for kids!
Tricks may be for kids. However, justice must be for all.
Do you think Harriet Tubman thought the Underground Railroad was a monumental task?
Do you think Abraham Lincoln our 16th President thought emancipating the slaves was a monumental task?
Do you think Jackie Robinson #42 thought playing in the white league was a monumental task?
Do you think the many marches and speeches given by Dr. Martin Luther King was a monumental task?
Do you think Actress and Radio personality Hattie McDaniel the first African-American women on radio thought much about her monumental task?
Do you think Madam C.J. Walker the first black millionaire businesswoman thought her task was monumental?
Do you think Madeleine Albright this nation’s first female Secretary of State thought her task to be monumental?
Do you think Tribal Chief Sitting Bull who led his people during years of resistance to United States government policies thought his task a monumental?
Trailblazers, Rebels, Resisters, Presidents, First Ladies, Outlaws, Artists, Religious figures, Pop icons, Empire builders, and Athletes! I’m sure they all thought of their task as monumental, the only difference was they never gave up. NGU!
It’s because of this short list of inspirational men and women of all races and ethnic background I can’t keep my mouth shut, head down and just go with the flow. Going along to get along was neither their thing nor mine.
I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!
Injustice must be met with justice or chaos, anarchy and oligarchy will become pathological. It will run rampant, eating citizens alive and destroy all chance of love, hope, peace, and prosperity. Brothers and sister will war amongst each other. Unspeakable acts of violence and tyranny will engulf nations. The damage to humanity and our planet will be irreversible; incapable of being changed.
Is this the path we seek? I would truly hope not!
I was born under the zodiac sign of Cancer and this why I’m the way I’ am.
Cancer, the fourth sign of the zodiac, is all about home. Those born under this sign are roots kinds of people and take great pleasure in the comfort of home and family. Cancers are maternal, domestic and love to nurture other. More than likely, their family will be too – the more, the merrier! Cancers will certainly be merry if their home life is serene and harmonious. Traditions are upheld with great zest in Cancer household since these folks prize family history and love communal activities. They also tend to be patriotic, waving the flag whenever possible. A Cancer’s good memory is the basis for stories told around the dinner table and don’t be surprised if these folks get emotional about things. Those born under this sign wear their heart on their sleeve, which is just fine by them.
The point I’m making is, I’m a caregiver and people mean more to me then self!
