How do they survive?

  They live in the arctic, so they have two layers of blubber. They eat fish and seals.They live until their 30 years old. They weigh more than 350 pound. They hibernate for three months.

Are they endangered?

They are endangered in most places, but not northern Russia. They are known as red page animals.  This means they can not be killed. They are protected in places like Russia. By protecting them they can become unendangered.

What about the babies?

They normally have five to six. They are born after hibernation. Normally in April or May. They are 30 to 35 centimeters long. They stay with their moms for 2.5 years.
