My life at IES Honori García
This is our last term at secondary school. Six years have gone by since we started and this trip is about to finish. Now, I am thinking about it and I realize that there are a lot of things and good experiences that I will remember forever.
In the first year at IES Honori García, I went to the theme park PortAventura with my classmates because I really like this kind of parks, and we had a good time there in all the amusement rides. I enjoyed so much that I visited again in the following year at high school.
In the third school year we went to Paris, and this trip was so special to me because it was the first time I went abroad and, in addition, Paris is one of my favourite cities and I think that it is very beautiful. When we were there, we visited a lot of places like the Palace of Versailles; the Louvre Museum, where we could see important artworks like Liberty Leading the People or the Mona Lisa; the Palace of Fontainebleau, the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the last day we went to Disneyland Paris, where we enjoyed like children.
The worst was the journey, since we had to do it by bus and we were seventeen hours on it without sleeping because of the noise that people made. Apart from that, it was an amazing trip.
One of my favourite places was the Palace of Fontainebleau, because it is wonderful and it has incredible and beautiful gardens.
In spite of the very VERY cold weather and the fact that I think the Eiffel Tower is not a really beautiful tower, I enjoyed the visit because if you are on the top, you can see all the city and there is an amazing view.
Another thing that I will never forget is the spelling contest in which I took part this school year. When our Spanish teacher asked us to participate in that contest, I liked the idea because I give great importance to orthography and I did not hesitate to participate.
First of all, we made a test in class because the teacher needed to choose only one contestant to go to Valencia to do the second part of this. The second part of the contest was at the Luis Vives High School, in Valencia, and it was an autonomic test. We were sixty people there and I was really nervous before starting, and then we started the exam, which had three different parts. When I finished it, I thought that my exam was really wrong, but my teacher and my mother, who accompanied me too, were always positive. That afternoon, while I was trying to forget the test, my teacher called me and told me that I had the best mark and that meant that I would have to go to Madrid to do the last part of the contest. I think that without the teacher's help, who gave me some material to prepare the test, I could never have done this.
Some months later, I went to Madrid to make the last part of the contest and this was one of the best experiences of my life. The first day there, we were visiting the city and some places of Madrid, and the contestants had time to talk; one of the best things was to meet a lot of nice people and I enjoyed so much with them.
The second morning, we were all very nervous because we had to made the national test, and I was between the seventh and the twelfth contestant. When the test ended, we went to eat and then we had time to be all together before coming back home. It was an amazing experience for me and I will never forget it.
Second of bachillerato
Now we are in second of bachillerato, our last year here, and in this school year I feel affection for almost all teachers, and this is something positive because I think that teachers and students are very comfortable in class.
Next year I won't be here, I will be at university and I would like to go to live to Valencia. This period of my life is about to finish, but there are things that have left me a mark, and the most important is to remember these good things and forget the bad ones.
