A Death Well Lived
Join a conversation about how to improve the chances for yourself and your loved ones.

What does it mean to live fully? To die well? I, Carolyn Shaffer, have been reflecting on both questions as I write my memoir, A Death Well Lived: How My Husband and I Turned Our Last Year Into Our Best. I’ll be sharing my insights, and I welcome yours. What are your thoughts—or questions—about what we can do now so that, at the end of our life, we experience feelings of fulfillment and completion from a life well lived? Bring these, and yourself—and perhaps a friend—to this informal conversation.

If you want to be in the conversation and can’t make it this Thursday, let me know. I plan to schedule an additional conversation at the same location the following Wed., Oct. 1. That evening we'll be talking about both Life's Third Act and A Death Well Lived. Join us!

I'm, Carolyn Shaffer, a hypnotherapist and Passion Test facilitator who moved from Berkeley to Ashland, OR, and travel back to the SF Bay Area one to three times a year to see friends and clients and offer workshops and informal conversations on topics I'm passionate about. I'll be in the East Bay this time through Sat., Oct. 4, scheduling individual hypnotherapy and Passion Test sessions, one (or two) Passion Test workshops, and three conversations--on The Third Act of Life (Wed., Sept. 24), on A Death Well Lived (Thurs., Sept. 25), and on how both topics relate to one another (Wed., Oct. 1). All three take place at the Community Living Room on Grand Ave., Oakland, and at the same time, 7:30 - 9 pm. Questions? Ask here, or call me at 510-684-2676.

Claudia Miller, from whom I'm renting the living-room-like office space, suggests that for after-dark, evening events, you park on the street. (No need to feed meters after 6 pm.) She does NOT recommend the street-level city parking lot--entered by a short alley--across the street and down the block toward the Grand Lake Theater.

When you arrive, call or text me on my cell phone--510-684-2676--and I will buzz you in. You walk upstairs, turn right, and walk to the door on the right at the end of a short hall. You'll see a photo of Gandhi on the table at the end of the hall. Come on in to Claudia's small "community living room."
