The Antique Wine Company

The World's Finest Retailer of Rare and Fine Wines

The Antique Wine Company was founded in 1982 by Stephen Williams. They are a wine merchant that typically specializes in rare and expensive wines. They are based in London, and currently hold more than 10,000 different varieties within their storage facility. The company is most well known for their record breaking wine collections and events.

Of course verifying wine is vital, at a major provider like this. Which is why The Antique Wine Company partners with the University of Bordeaux to verify the authenticity of the bottles. Through a unique ion beam, X-ray process they are able to determine the actual age of any bottle, without interfering with the maturation process of the wine inside.

In 2011, The Antique Wine Company broke the record for the most expensive bottle of wine ever sold. The bottle was an 1811 Chateau d'Yquem and was sold for more than $100,000 to a former sommelier.

Currently, they are one of the largest wine dealers in the world. Operating in more than 70 countries worldwide. The Antique Wine Company has a base of operation in the United Kingdom, and similar offices in Hong Kong and the Philippines.
