My daughter Avery and I on our summer trip to Ohio. This is the 5th summer that we have driven from Texas to Ohio, Ohio to Iowa, and Iowa to Texas. We got to see lots of family and friends! Travel is important to me. We are currently planning a trip to take Avery to Europe for the first time.

Goals

I have a goal of getting a second master's degree or my PhD in education. I have loved learning my entire life and can't imagine a time when I am ever ready to stop learning. I strive to find new methods and resources to use in my classroom. I like sharing my ideas and collaborating with others.

Traditions

These are my parents and Avery at the 4th of July parade in Norwalk, Ohio. My dad has been a fireman for my entire life. I rode the firetruck with my parents when I was a kid, so this is a fun tradition that I get to now share with my daughter. Parades in small town America are so patriotic and I love them because of the traditions they represent. Education is a tradition in my family. My family tree is made up of lots of educators in different capacities. I have always known I wanted to be a teacher.

Family is very important to me. This is a picture of 4 generations of women in my family. Family is the reason I am who I am today. I have their support to do anything. The hardest part of living in Texas is that I am away from them because I am the person that lives the farthest away. Most of my family lives within 1 hour of each other.

This is my husband and my daughter panning for gems at Innerspace Caverns. My husband is a native Texan. He is the reason I am still here! I was supposed to be in Texas for 2 years to get teaching experience and then go home. I met him within one month of moving here and we have been together for 15 years now. I was a small town girl meant to live in Texas!

LEARNING and BECOMING a REAGAN RAY!

I am most excited about learning more and more about the Reagan way! I was hired in December so I just had to hit the ground running. I look forward to sharing my leadership experience and blending it with the Reagan way to make positive change.
