Another Spin

By: Kearri Myrick 4/16/14

The wheel stopped
I stared at my dad
like hungry hawk to a rabbit
and he said
as my claws raced with lightening speed
no more green circles to grasp
I waited
and waited

Until a new game
bringing in new prey
unfolding like a
herd of deer
hoping they would
not be next
for the kill

Soon one deer slowed
like a
pinwheel decelerating
pointing directly
at the deer
the last to grasp
afraid I would fall
I stretched
and made the catch
of the last red
cheering like a king
over a triumphant
staying in for another spin
