Health and safety in a work place is important because people could become in danger if something is not right in the room for example a messy floor could be a tripping hazard and could put a person in serious danger so it is important that the work place is tidy also looked & check by a health and safety inspector to check that it is a safe place to work in.

EQUAL PAY

All workers in a work place must be paid equally but in fact women get paid less than men by 23%

MINIMUM WAGE  

Currently the paying minimum wage for a year is £10,462  which is not enough to live on.

HOURS YOU MUST WORK

A average person must work 48 hours a week.

SICKNESS PAY

If a person is taking time off because they are sick they are paid £111 if they are sick for four days.

HOLIDAY

If you want to take some time off of work you are entitled to 28 days of being paid without going to work.

MATERNITY/PATERNITY

If you are going to have a baby an ordinary maternity leave is 26 weeks, and if you have a partner you can split the 23 weeks with them so you have a equal time spent with your child.
