Gatsby Theme Analysis

In the novel, "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald explores the world of New York in The Roaring 20s, dealing with romance, wealth, and mystery. There are many themes that can be found throughout this book, but the one that shines out the most is that love will not always be returned in the way you wish it to be. The character, Gatsby, is a love bitten, rich, and rather handsome man whose heart fell to a selfish, flowy woman named Daisy. He had done everything he could have for her, and she led him to believe that she wanted to be him rather than her husband, which was not true. In the end, Gatsby had lost his heart forever to Daisy, and she kept hers to herself, only loving and caring for one thing: money.
