CPR Cheat Sheet

Adult and Child CPR
1. Check the scene
2. Check the patient
3. Call 911
4. Give 30 chest compressions
5. Open airway and give 2 breaths
6. Continue cycles of CPR until AED or medical services arrive

Infant CPR
1. Check the scene
2. Check the patient
3. Call 911
4. Give 30 chest compressions with 2 fingers
5. Open the airway and give 2 breaths
6. Continue cycles of CPR until AED or medical services arrive

Adult and Child Conscious Choking
1. Check the patient
2. Stand behind the patient with 1 foot in between the patient and other behind you
3. Place flat side of fist just above their belly button and grab with your other hand
4. Give 5 thrusts until object comes out

Infant Conscious Choking
1. Check the patient
2. Support face and hold on your forearm
3. Keep infant's head lower than feet
4. Give 5 back blows with your palm
5. Turn baby over and give 5 chest thrusts
6. Continue until object comes out or they become unconscious

Adult/Child Unconscious Choking
1. Safely lower patient to the ground
2. Call 911
3. Give 30 chest compressions
4. Open airway and check for foreign object
5. Attempt 2 breaths reposition and try again if they don't go in

Infant Unconscious Choking
1. Give 30 chest compressions
2. Open airway and check for foreign body
3. Give 2 breaths, if they don't go in reposition and reattempt
4. Continue CPR
5. If patient vomits roll on their side and clean it out

Bleeding
1. Check the scene
2. Apply direct pressure
3. If it starts leaking through add more gauze on top
4. Elevate
5. When bleeding is controlled add bandage
6. Check for capillary refill
7. Call 911

AED
1. Turn on the AED
2. Bare the chest
3. Place pads as directed (adult-on right side above the nipple and left on lower ribs. Infant-on back and one on chest)
4. Stand clear
5. Shock is delivered
6. Continue CPR until other shock is advised
