Brain Expo

This year's Brain Expo was a huge success thanks to Mrs. McRae and all the teachers and students who contributed. Multiple students ran stations leading visitors through the mysteries of the brain from its functions and make-up to areas of language, tricks of the brain, vision, hearing, etc. The students did an excellent job of leading learning for all involved. Great Job, Jets!

Curiculum Fair 2015

Another celebration for the Jets. This year's curriculum fair was a great success displaying all of JCHS's wonderful offerings of the academies, world languages, advance placements, core classes, music, art and so much more. Upcoming freshman left excited, and parents left impressed.

Flight of Jets

Thursday all of LMS's eighth grade students toured JCHS as the upcoming class of 2019. They were welcomed by the drumline and cheerleaders as they entered the auditorium. Then they enjoyed a riveting performance of the "Lies About High School" from our drama department. Following the performance, eighth graders received a tour of the school from members of SGA, student ambassadors, cheerleaders and other club and organization members. Tables highlighting engineering, science in motion, JROTC, SGA and carpentry were displayed in the landing. The students completed their visit by partaking in our wonderful Jets' lunchroom. Many contributed to making this day special for the class of 2019. The class of 2019 are eager to become Jets!

Flight School Review

Flight School this week featured the inquiry based learning protocol taking a look at the essential question- What obstacles or struggles stand in the way of student success?

Using an inquiry style discussion, teachers created thinking maps examining their answers to the essential question. The next flight school will assess the teacher responses and direct us where to go next. Teachers are the owners of this learning.
