4th Annual Pancake Barkfeast
Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at West Pilgrim Church
Barkfeast, brought to you by Secondhand Mutts, features buttermilk and chocolate chip pancakes, sausage, bacon, vegetarian sausage, coffee and orange juice. It's 8 a.m. - noon this Saturday at Pilgrim Church (2592 West 14th).
Get in, get here.
Tickets are available at the door — $12 for adults, $5 for kids. The event raises money and awareness for Secondhand Mutt dogs with heart worm.
A little history.
Several years ago, Secondhand Mutts saved a dog named Scramble. (See him in the second photo!) He was a senior Doberman Pinscher thrown from a truck and taken to a Youngstown shelter. Scramble was heart worm positive and looking for a second shot at life. He lived up that second chance with angel/foster dad Bradley Lunder, until Scramble died in 2010. Barkfeast celebrates his life and helps other heart worm positive dogs get treatment.
This year's Barkfeast honors two particular heart worm survivors — Blueberry and Hobo Harold — who have been treated and adopted through the Secondhand Mutt program. Get the Secondhand Mutts story.
Want to volunteer? Secondhand Mutt needs bakers, bacon and sausage cooks, setup/tear-down/clean-up helpers, door and service workers. Breakfast is on the house!
