My name is Varun Kodali and I am a 6th grader at Holman Middle School in Henrico County, located just outside of Richmond, VA. This is my first year studying in Henrico, and my first year at Holman.
The purpose of this website is to serve information about Narendra Modi.
Life: Narendra Damodardas Modi
On September 17th, 1950 Narendra Modi was born. His full name was
Narendra Damodardas Modi. In northern India he was very indigent. His father helped his family who was a merchant. At the age of 18 Modi wedded but spent little period with his wife and finally finished the marriage. In Delhi University he accomplished a degree in political science and in Gujarat University, 1983 he completed his teacher’s work.
As a youth he arrived into the politics and quickly rose through the ranks of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a solid public speaker and a Hindu pro-independence political party. In Gujarat he devoted his life to legislations, he joined the RSS in 1971 . During the 1975-77 political crisis, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi stated a state of emergency, blocked the governmental administrations such as the RSS. So Modi wrote a book in, "Sang harsh ma Gujarat" (Gujarat in Emergency), which histories are his experiences as a civil fugitive.
Modi was elected BJP national secretary in 1995, a place from which he positively lend a hand to settle the internal leadership disputes, In 1998, paving the way for BJP election victories. Modi, became a leading light to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). From 2001 to 2014 he worked as a Chief Minister of Gujarat state. Since May 2014 Narendra Modi became a 15th Prime Minister of India. On Sep 30th 2014 Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited US to meet President Barak Obama, to make improve the Indo-US relationship.

In October 2008, Modi persuaded Tata Motors to move its factory to build its ultra-low cost Nano car to Gujarat from West Bengal after protests from farmers over land compensation. This showed a sign of his business-friendly approach to politics. Gujarat today is one of India's wealthiest states and Modi's supporters credit him for bringing uninterrupted power supply, smooth roads and a flood of investment to the state.
