My Food Chain by Lucy Jacobs
The sun gives its energy to the grass(producer). The grass is the grasshoppers food (herbivore) . The grasshoppers energy from the grass goes to the omnivore also known as the mouse, when the mouse eats the grasshopper. The snake a first carnivore catches the mouse and eats it. Giving energy to the snake. The hawk (secondary carnivore) swoops down from its tree to collect his food also known as a snake. When the hawk gets old and dies it breaks down in to the soil, so the decomposers can grow. The decompers dies living nutrients for the grass to grow. Then the cycle starts all over again.
