Lyric poems are a type of poems that express personal feelings which are usually emotional. Greek lyric poetry had a musical tune and most modern lyric poetry has a rhyme scheme to it. Lyric poems have been around since the medieval times. Like the haiku lyric poems are short but unlike the haiku the lyric poem isn't restricted by an amount of syllables. Lyric poems have gone from Rome to China than to many other countries. When lyric poems started they were not meant to be sung but just to be recited.
