University of Oregon

The University of Oregon is the school I chose because they have a school of medicine that will help me peruse my nursing career. This school will be close to were I am going to be living when I graduate from high school. This school is also has a great marching program i will love to be in while I'm there.

1859 was the year the idea of the University of Oregon was thought of when the congress said the was required of the state to have a public  university. By the early 1870's the residents of Eugene city were convinced by Judge Joshua Walton to raise the 27,500 dollars for the  17- acres of land that started UO. in 1876 5 teachers taught the first class that had graduated in 1878. that original 17-acres is now a whooping 295-acres. That is a little bit of The University of Oregon's history

Admissions requirements

There are many things needed to apply first you must finish and graduate from high school. You must also submit your SAT, and ACT scores preferably sent through the testing administrators. The final thing is the application and the essay. you also might want to consider any personal circumstances that they should know about, but don't forget about the deadline which is January 15th

Campus Life

There are several housing options at the university with many accommodations that will fit your needs. there are many things to do on campus whether it be athletics or a club, or even exploring the great outdoors between classes.

My Career

There are many careers to chose from now. The career I chose is a nurse practitioner. I chose this career path because it has always been something I wanted to do was help others. I also chose this career because the biology aspect of it is something that interest me. a job might take a lot of college classes

In the long term the processes to get there might be hard and costly but that is something I am willing to do to get there. This career will also be able to not only help others but me to make sure that I will be able to support my self and my family. That is why I want to be a nurse practitioner.

Career Description

Nurse practitioner different because of their advance and clinical training, and experience. A nurse Practitioner might work with the sick, or the healthy for a checkup. The also help relive doctors of time consuming task that they would not be able to do. To become a nurse practitioner you mush first  get a bachelors in nursing and and pass the test to become a registered nurse. A Nurse Practitioner Program can lead to a masters or doctoral degree and can take any were from 1-3 years to complete. Most nurse practitioners work in a doctor's office, hospitals, clinic's, and community health centers.

My Primary Source

When Peggy a nurse practitioner was asked, "What characteristics were needed to be successful at her job?", she replied with, "You must be patient and a good listener. You also need to be organized and good at prioritizing because many nurse practitioners only get 15 to 20 minutes with each person.Confidence is important because you need to make on-the-spot decisions—for example, diagnosing illnesses". This demonstrates the qualities that are need to be happy with this job.
