Background information- The sisters were the beloved daughters of one of the Charleston's leading judges, They lived a life of comfort with slaves waiting on them hand and foot.  Although they both left the south for racial equality.

Accomplishments- They were the only upper class white people from the south to reject their life of comfort, and the part of the first to see this leading to women's rights.
