I have been fascinated with red pandas for a long time and is way over due a Tackk to be dedicated to this amazing species. The red panda has long, soft reddish-brown fur on the upper parts, blackish fur on the lower parts, and a light face with tear markings and robust cranial-dental features. They have long, sharp claws so they can clime trees well. If you could compare this animal to any other animal in looks, I would say the red panda looks most like a raccoon due to the facial markings.
This specials is generally quiet except for some twittering, tweeting, and whistling communication sounds. It has been reported that the red panda is both nocturnal and crepuscular. Red pandas often are found sleeping on tree branches or in tree hollows during the day and increasing its activity in the late afternoon and early evening hours. Here is a short video.
Red pandas are excellent climbers, and forage largely in trees so they eat mostly bamboo, eggs, flowers and berries. In captivity, they were observed to eat flowers, maple and mulberry leaves, and bark and fruits of maple, beech and mulberry.
