Biomedical Engineering

By: Wyatt Pepin

A biomedical engineer operates medical machinery (ie: EKG, MRI, CT, dyalisys...) or operating clinical studies. The field of biomed is a large and ever expanding one. The person who invented the iron lung (A device made for people with polio) was made by a biomedical engineer. The CT scan (Computerized tomography) was also made by a biomedical engineer. Many surgical prosedures are devised by biomedical engineers, but the surgeries are carried out by surgeons. There is a bright future for biomedical engineers, seeing that technology is being used more and more in the medical field.
