In 2011, 23% (about 1.3 million) of auto collisions involved cell phones being used by the driver. While texting and driving, at least 5 seconds of your attention is taken away from the road and if you are driving at least 55 mph (about 89 kph) you're driving the length of a football field without looking at the road.  82% of 16-17 year old American's have cell phones, 52% of this amount talk on the phone while driving, and 34% text. Crashes ARE fatal in most cases and with you looking at your phone while driving you are putting other people at risk as well as yourself. Texting and Driving needs to stop, don't tempt fate, that text can wait.
