Flyers Win Season Opener vs. IPFW 81-80

The Flyers got off to a strong start this past Saturday, November 9, leading 44-35 over IPFW going into halftime. Price was the first half scoring leader with 12 points and going 4-4 from the three. Pierre woke up the crowd early with a big ally-op from Scoochie Smith that hyped up the fans for the game.

IPFW came out of the locker room into the second half and took the lead 59-57, keeping it close the rest of the second half. With help from the energy of the UD crowd, the Flyers got back into the game with a 11-1 run.

Jordan Sibert played an amazing first game in Flyer uniform, giving a sigh of relief when he hit a 3-point buzzer-beater with .1 seconds left giving the Flyers the victory over the Mastodons and making the No. 1 spot on ESPN's Top Plays for November 10th.

Next Up For the Flyers

Dayton hosts the St. Francis Red Flash this Wednesday, November 13th @ Noon.

Coming off their thirlling season opening win, UD will welcome the St. Francis Red Flash. St. Francis comes into the game 1-1, and trailing UD in the all time series 5-1. The last time the two teams met was in January 1966 when Dayton won 98-56.

Scouting the Competition

The Red Flash are led by Earl Brown, who earned the Northeast Conference's Most Improved Player in 2012-2013. They have one of the youngest rosters in the NCAA, the underclassmen accounted for 99 percent of SFU's offense and rebounding last year.
