Angelina and Sarah Grimke
Kaleb and Bobby
The two sisters were born into a rich, slave holding South Carolina family. Sarah, the older of the two grew to strongly disprove of slaves so much that she started to teach her families slaves to read and write. As they got older they moved to New York and joined an anti-slavery society who wrote letters from a women's point of view. The sisters also gave public speeches to show the cruelties of slavery. Angelina became the first woman to ever speak in front of the legislative committee.
