Born in 1801, died 1870. Was born near Knoxville, Tennessee.

He fought for the North.

David with 18 ships and 700 men, guarded the entrance to  New Orleans for the Gulf of Mexico.

He was also in The Siege of Vicksburg

He ordered Vicksburg to surrender.
