The Muslim Empire began when islam began. The muslim empire spread out of Mecca, east to India, west across North Africa, and on into Spain.

It took about 100 years to spread their empire. The Battle of Tours in sothern France is where the French Christians defeated the Muslims and stopped their advance into Europe. In between 700-900 the Muslim Empire had a golden age where they experienced a great time of learning and cultural diffusion.

The Muslims contributed greatly to our society. They contributed things such as, hospitals, algebra, credit, study of the stars, medical textbooks, surgery, they also preserved the Greek and Roman culture, and a lot more.

The Muslim Empire lasted so long because of the strength of their armies, the use of common language, and fair treatment of conquered people.
