An outcome is the result of an action. For example, getting tails is a possible outcome of flipping a coin. An event is a collection of possible outcomes. If all outcomes are equally likely, you can use a formula to find the theoretical probability.
Probability can be showed as a fraction, a decimal, or a percent.
Always put your fraction in simplest form.
You have 5 blue marbles, 7 yellow marbles, and 3 red marbles in a bag. What is the probability that you will pull out a red marble? The outcome would be 1/5, 0.2, or 20%.
Find the answer.
P(even) P(5) P(odd)
