Poe's Writings and Career

Edger Allen Poe wrote many books/pomes in his day. He is acknowledged as the inventor the mystery/detective stories. Though he had a rough start he managed to have a good career with his writings. Though he did mot receive the most money throughout his career he is still consider successful.

Throughout his career he wrote many successful books and poems. Here are some of his most famous.

-The Raven

-The Masque of the Red Death

-The Cask of Amontillado

-The Tell-Tale Heart

-The Murders in the Rue Morgue

-The Fall of the House of Usher

Edger Allen Poe had a rough had a rough time, and he even enlisted in the army. Though in 1827 his first book was published it was Tamerlane and Other Poems. There where only about 50 copes made some where even given out for free. Only 12 copies exist today most not in good condition though they have been know to go as high as $172,000 at auction.

Though Poe did not make a lot of money during his life he is still consisted one of the most successful authors still today.
