Core Regions

In geography, core refers to the center, heart,of focus.The core incorporates higher levels of education, higher salaries, and more technology; the region generates more wealth than the other regions in the World-systems Theory.

Location of Core Countries

As shown in the map below, most of the core regions are located in the western hemisphere. An example of a core region in this area is the United States.
