Quote:

True, the 1970s feminist vision of a fully egalitarian society has not been fulfilled. Contemporary women and men are not pursuing identical career paths. Vast numbers of women—including many with advanced degrees—cut back or drop out of the workplace when they have children.

My Ideas:

I might be able to use this quote to compare males and females career choice or how they are viewed in that specific path. It will be helpful to use as an example aswell.

The ''Truth"

Quote:

Today American women are among the healthiest, freest, best-educated women in the world, and they score near the top on international surveys of happiness and life satisfaction.

My Ideas:

This would be used to persuade others that just because America has gotten half of the rights women derseve in the 21st century, that doesnt mean countrys all over the world have reached to have that equallity yet.

The Movement

Quote:

Feminists are understandably horrified—the movement we've fought so hard for is suddenly being appropriated by the very people who are trying to dismantle it. But this co-opting hasn't happened in a vacuum; the mainstream feminist movement's instability and stalled ideology have made stealing it that much easier.

My Ideas:

I would use this to persuade other people and feminist that our movement hasnt gone far, and we should come together as a community and continue to fight.

The Next Generation

Quote:

The failure of feminists to prop up the next generation of activists, and the focus on gender as the sole requisite for feminism, has led to a crisis of our own making.

My Ideas:

As much of us want our fight to make a diffrence, we tend to be our own weakness.
