George Washington was born on February 22, 1732 at Mount Vernon in Virginia. George was born to a farming family and worked a lot. He knew how to read and right but never went to college. He joined the army to fight against the British. He worked as a solider most his life and after America beat the British; he became president. His parents were Augustine Washington and Mary Ball Washington. He had three brothers, two sisters, three half brothers, and one half sister. George married his wife, Martha Washington, one January 6, 1759. Martha had children from her former marriage, a boy and a girl, Jack and Patsy. He was the state representive to Virginia and had no preticuial political party. His term of office was from April 30, 1789 to March 4, 1797. His first inauguration age was 57. A notable quote said by George Washington is "as the first of everything, in our sitution will serve to establish Precedent, it is devoutly wished on my part, that these precedents may be fixed on true principles." After his terms in office George lived in Virginia at Mount Vernon with his wife and two kids. He died on December 14, 1799 at the age of 67. He was buried at Mount Vernon and many people visit it today.
A little about his wife, Martha Washington. She was born on June 2, 1731 and really enjoyed reading. Martha was married before she married George; her first husband died. Martha didn't really enjoy being First Lady but believed it was her duty and responsibiltiy being married to George. Martha died on May 22, 1802 at the age of 71.
