Goiter

Goiter is a abnormal enlargement of your thyroid gland. Your thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland located at the base of your Adams Apple.

Pathology
It affects the thyroid gland. The goiter does not affect the amount of thyroid hormones that you make. You are euthyroid, which means that you make the correct amount of these hormones. The size of of a goiter can range from very small and barely noticeable, to very large.

Sign/Symptoms

The signs/Symptoms is that you have really a bad time breathing especially if you have large goitres, coughing, hoarseness, and swallowing difficulties.


Cause

The cause of a Goitre is Iodine Deficiency, it's the major cause of a goiter. But, it's also worldwide addition to to the availability of iodine in the diet. Which is no longer a problem in developed countries that add iodine to salt ( although strict vegan diets can lack enough iodine), mostly seafood, plant grown in iodine-rich soil,a nod cow's milk-rates of a goiter are high and it's Congenital.

Treatment

The treatment for this disease is by using medication, Sugeries, Radioactive Iodine, or Home Care. But, with the Home Care treatment it all depends on your type of goiter, you may have to increase or decrease your iodine intake at home.
