The Great Depression

The Great Depression began in 1929 and lasted ten years ending in 1939 it was the deepest and longest-lasting economic downturn in the history of the Western industrialized world. It began soon after the stock market crash that occurred in October 1929. This sent wall street into panic and wiped out millions of investors. through out the years after, many companies fell and unemployment rose. By 1933 most companies were laying off there workers and half of America was unemployed half of the country's banks had failed. President Franklin D. Roosevelt helped lessen the effects of the great depression but it didn't end fully until 1939 when world war 2 began, kicking America into high gear.

Stan's Apology Letter

Dear Mr. Stroheim,

I apologize for sweeping up dirt onto your new shoes. It was unethical of me to do that especially out of anger. I apologize for making a fool out of you in your own workshop. I apologize for being an inconsiderate person.

I understand why I shouldn't have done that it was rude of me. I understand why you want to fire me and if i was you I would want to fire me too. But I am an excellent worker and I promise to never disrespect you again.

I need this job because my family needs it. My father and I are the only ones who have jobs and make money. If I was to lose this job I wouldn't be able to support my family and we would have to go without eating for a few days. I can't do that to my family so please don't fire me. I really really need this job.

I will work harder if you want me too. I will work harder just to show you that I'm sorry that I'm a rude person. I really hope you will forgive me for what I have done. I hope that you will have mercy on me and my family and let me keep this job.

My Personal Review

To me Brighton Beach Memoirs was kinda boring and had no point to anything. It was just a play about life problems and it bored me because most books I read involve love, drama, tragedy, murder, revenge, magic, mysteriousness. All Brighton Beach Memoirs was a boy growing up, a girl wanting to fulfill her dreams at any cost, a young adult losing his money, a father working too much and having heart problems, a little girl who doesn't do anything due to heart problems, a mom trying to keep balance in the family, and another mom who doesn't have a home and cant work as much due to losing sight. My favorite part in the whole thing was when the sisters started fighting because it was the closest thing to drama. My favorite character was Nora because she was just trying to follow her dreams of being on Broadway.
